OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition released with 10GB RAM

For those of you who wanted an even more powerful OnePlus phone, the wait is over. Today the company released their anticipated OnePlus 6T McLaren edition. This phone is very similar to the standard OnePlus 6T, with some exceptions on both design and internal. Nothing very extreme (it is still the same phone you love), but it will certainly stand out when placed on the table.

Let’s start with the internals. You get the same Snapdragon 845CPU as in the standard version. Sorry for those that expected to receive the new Snapdragon 855 chipset, you will need to wait a few more month. But for the McLaren Edition, the CPU is paired with 10GB of RAM, compared to the 6GB or 8GB you got before. The internal storage has also been bumped to 256GB, even though there was a version with this much storage before. Another thing that this phone has different is the charging mechanism. No wireless charging, but it comes with th new Warp Charger (included in the box) that can get the phone from 0% to 50% in just 20 minutes. This was expected to come ever since Oppo released their SuperVOOC charger a few months ago. Everything else remains the same as for the standard edition.

On the outside, OnePlus made some changes to the 6T McLaren Edition. First of all, the back features a carbon fiber pattern with orange margins that flow at the bottom of the device. This is the papaya orange color that is used by McLaren in their Formula 1 cars. The McLaren logo is also present on the back, near the bottom of the phone. Some software changes were also made for this phone. It features a different boot animation during startup, a new animation for the finger print unlock mechanism and a live wallpaper is also preinstalled, all of which are exclusive to the McLaren Edition.

This is also the most expensive phone to date for OnePlus, having a price tag of 699€ with orders starting on the 13th of December. By using our link you can also get 20€ discount on accessories when purchasing any OnePlus phone.
