Huawei Nova 4 comes with a hole in the screen, and that is a good thing

Ever since the first phone with a notch got released, manufacturers knew that it will have to go. It was a necessary step on the way to completely borderless phones, but it was never meant to be something permanently. Since then companies experimented with different approaches. We have the pop-up cameras from Vivo and Oppo, the slider from Xiaomi and now, Huawei released a phone with a hole in the screen. It is not the first, but it does have the smallest hole to date, having a diameter of just 4.5mm. This is to make room for the 25MP front-facing camera. Except for that, the 6.4″ screen is normal for 2018. The bezels are very slim on the top and on the sides while on the back it is slightly bigger. Looks like they did not use the method of folding the display underneath (like Apple did) so they had to place the screen controller there. This results in a decent, but not wow, screen to body ratio of 86.3%.

Spec wise, the Huawei Nova 4 comes with a Kirin 970 CPU, a model from last year, and 8GB of RAM. Internal storage is also very good, the phone having 128GB of memory for all your pictures and videos. And believe me, you will need it because the top model comes with a 48MP rear camera. It is the first phone released with Sony’s IMX586 camera module and it promises great photo quality. There will be two models launched, each having slightly different camera configuration on the back:
Standard model:
* Top Sensor — 16MP 117 degrees Wide-Angle f/2.2
* Middle Sensor — 20MP Primary f/1.8
* Bottom Sensor — 2MP for Bokeh f/2.4

High-end module:
* Top Sensor — 16MP 117 degrees Wide-Angle f/2.2
* Middle Sensor — 48MP IMX586 Primary f/1.8
* Bottom Sensor — 2MP for Bokeh f/2.4

Other noteworthy specs include a fingerprint reader on the back and a 3750mAh battery with quick-charge via the USB Type-C connector. The phone will be sold in China at first starting December 27th. Prices will be approximately $450 for the base model and $495 for the high-end version. At least those are the prices in China. Getting them outside proves to be more expensive, with retailers asking close to $700 for the 48MP model. Below are prices and link where you can get them right now:
* Huawei Nova 4 – 48MP Camera – $688
* Huawei Nova 4 – 20MP Camera – $630
