Lenovo just held a press conference where it unveiled a new smartphone, the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT. This new device comes with top of the line specs, including the new Snapdragon 855 chipset and 12GB of RAM. This puts the company’s device in a very high place, being not only the first smartphone with the new Snapdragon CPU, but also the first device with such a big memory. Quite an announcement we have here.
The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT also stands very good in other departments. It comes with an 6.39″ AMOLED screen with a 1080 × 2340 pixels resolution and 95.06% screen-to-body ratio. They managed to achieve this be having a sliding mechanism for the front facing camera, similar to what Xiaomi did for the Mi Mix 3. However, Lenovo also included an in-display fingerprint scanner. For the cameras, the Z5 Pro GT comes with a dual camera on the back consisting of a 16MP main sensor and a secondary 24MP sensor. On the front the phone features a 16MP sensor and an 8MP infra-red one, used for face-unlock.
The version with 12GB of RAM is the top model and it also comes with 512GB of internal storage. however, lower versions will also be available that defer only by the quantity of RAM and storage. There will also be a lower end model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as well as a mid-range version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. All versions come with NFG, Bluetooth 5, 4G connectivity (sorry, no 5G version yet), Dolby Atmos sound and a 3350mAh battery with fast charging. Pricing in China will start from $391 and it will go all the way up to $635 for the high-end model. The device will go on sale starting 15th of January 2019.
