Umidigi Z2 Pro unboxing – Video included

Today we have a mid-range smartphone to unbox and by looking at the specs, the Umidigi Z2 Pro seems to be a really good phone, especially considering the $270 price tag that it is currently being sold at. It is not a high-end device, so the company had to cut some corners to get the phone this cheap, but it does come with some interesting specs, like FullHD+ screen, NFC and wireless charging. It comes with a Helio P60 CPU, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Let’s open it.

Umidigi Z2 Pro Unboxing

A small box, not a lot bigger than the phone, but quite thick and good for a mid-range smartphone. The UMIDIGI logo can be seen on it.

Once we open it we are greeted with a message from UMIDIGI. A nice touch that makes the packaging look more premium without adding extra cost for the manufacturer.

Let’s take it out. The phone has a screen protector already applied and it is housed in a rubber/silicon case. It is nice for manufacturers to include these accessories int he package, especially for devices where changes to find something to buy are slim. This case does feel rather cheap, but better than nothing.

A charger (EU type since I live in the EU), cable and a USB Type-C to audio jack adapter. The phone does not have a 3.5mm connector, but you are covered. Really nice. No wireless charged like the Mi Mix 3, but then again this phone is half the price, so can’t really complain.

All the accessories included. The phone is still in the case here. Not bad for a $250-$270 smartphone. I still remember the days when at this price you got the device and the charger only, not to mention a smartphone will a lot worse capabilities.

Let’s remove the case and see the back of the phone.

Dual-camera setup and a fingerprint reader. I got the carbon fiber pattern version but there is also a “TWILIGHT” one that comes with a blue-purple gradient. The pattern here is just decorative, the device having a glass back. There is also a ceramic version, that costs about $40 more.

Conclusions

The device is light and looks decent. You can tell from the start that it is not a high-end smartphone, but considering the price and the specs that it has, it feels OK. You can get it for $270 right now, but I also saw it for less than $240 during sales. A full review will be posted soon. In the meantime, you can check the price of the device at this store.
