Gaming smartphones are all the rage right now, with many companies trying to get your attention by promising the edge in competitive mobile gaming. The rise of PUBG and Fortnite as well as other mobiles games, more and more people are turning to a smartphone that can offer a few extra features that are aimed at gamers. Razer Phone and ASUS ROG were among the first, but other companies soon followed. Among them Xiaomi, who is at the second generation for Black Shark, their gaming smartphone line-up. And we have our hands on it.
The box for the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is about the same size as most devices come in nowadays. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was an exception, with a bigger box, but the Black Shark 2 has the same quality for the packaging.
If we open the box we are greeted with a message. This is again something borrowed from the MI Mix series which proves that Xiaomi wants this to be a premium device, not just something gamers would choose.
Removing it will unveil the smartphone. It looks really nice, with a screen protector already applied. A really nice touch and I honestly hope that all manufacturers do this.
Underneath it, we have more compartments that hold the accessories. We get a charging cable, the power brick (that is Quick Charge 3, even though the phone supports quick-charge 4), a SIM Ejector pin and a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter.
Xiaomi also included a few stickers with the Black Shark logo and a silicon case for the phone. The accessories offered for the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 are quite nice. Also, being a gaming smartphone, you can buy dedicated controllers for it as well as other stuff like HDMI Cables or headphones.
This concludes our hands-on unboxing of the Xiaomi Black Shark 2. A full review will arrive soon.
