Meizu is set on getting some of the market shares from Redmi. They are releasing the Meizu Note 9, a mid-range smartphone that competes head-to-head with the Redmi Note 7 at both specifications and price. And, to make sure that it gets as many users to buy the new smartphone, they will be having a sales event on Aliexpress where the 4GB/64GB version will cost just $179.99. Not a bad price considering the specs that the device has.
Reading the specifications it is as clear as daylight that the primary competitor is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (Pro?). The Meizu Note 9 comes with the Snapdragon 675CPU and 4GB of RAM. It will have 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, depending on the model you choose and a 6.2″ LCD screen with a waterdrop notch, slim bezels and 2244×1080 resolution. It also comes with a 48MP main camera sensor on the back and a secondary sensor on the front. However, it bumps the selfie camera to 20MP, getting another advantage over Redmi Note 7.
It has the same 4000mAh battery, but due to a better CPU, Meizu promises that it will last longer compared to Xiaomi’s smartphone. Everything else is pretty standard. You get a fingerprint reader on the back, dual 4G SIM slots, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C connector, fast charging up to 18W. Meizu also promises better gaming performance thanks to a “hyper gaming mode”, excellent photo quality thanks to the built-in AI and good software with FlymeOS 7.2 that is built on top of Android 9. The sale will start in a few hours, from April 23, 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 PT. Pricing during the sale will be $179.99 for the 4GB/64GB version and $222.99 for the 4GB/128GB version. This makes the Meizu Note 9 the best alternative to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7.
