Do you feel that the OnePlus 7 Pro is a bit overpriced? Or the 90Hz screen is an overkill for what you are doing, but you still want top-notch performance? Fear not, since starting today OnePlus 7 is available on the companies website, as long as you don’t live in the US. You can get it now starting at just €549 and, even though it does not offer much from a design perspective, the 7 is a an upgrade over last year’s OnePlus 6t. Also, it does not fall behind too much when compared to the 7 Pro, many of the tech from there being present in this device as well.
You will still get the latest Snapdragon 855 CPU in the OnePlus 7 and 6G or 8GB of RAM. Internal storage measures 128GB or 256GB respectively and you will still get that ultra-fast UFS3.0 memory. The screen is a more traditional one, but still very good. The 7 has a 6.41″ FullHD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch at the top. Under it you will find the optical fingerprint reader that has been improved to offer better unlock speeds compared to the 6t.
If photography is what you are interested in, the OnePlus 7 comes with a Sony IMX 586 48MP main sensor and a secondary 5MP one. On the front you will get a 16MP Sony IMX 471 sensor housed in that notch. The camera setup is not as impressive as on the OnePlus 7, but considering that they still offered the same main sensor, your photos will have to suffer. The phone also supports 4K video recording at 60FPS or slow-motion video at 1080p@240fps or 720p@240fps.
From a connectivity point of view, the OnePlus 7 ticks all the boxes: dual-4G connectivity, WiFi, dual-frequency GPS, NFC and Bluetooth 5. Everything here is top of the line with little that they could have added (caught IR Blaster caught). The device will set you back €549 for the 6GB/128GB model or €599 for the 8GB/256GB version.
