As we already knew, Xiaomi held an event today where they released three new smartphones aimed at social media enthusiasts and teenagers. All three smartphones put a great accent on photography and design, with the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu edition being an absolute beast at taking photos. The smartphones come with mid-range specs and with really good prices, at least in China. No word yet on the global release, but we can expect them available outside of Xiaomi’s home country in a couple of months.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Edition Specifications
Let’s take a look at the specs and we will start with the top of the line: the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Edtion. This smartphone comes with the Snapdragon 710 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There is only one color currently available, called Pearl White. It has a triple-camera setup on the back that consists of a main 48MP sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 120-degree field-of-view and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it will have a 32MP selfie camera. The main camera and the front-facing camera come with Meitu’s imaging technology that promises to capture great photos, even in low-light conditions.
The screen has 6.39″ diagonal and an AMOLED panel with FullHD+ resolution. The phone has an Always-On Display and latest 7th-generation in-display fingerprint sensors. Pricing in China will be 2,599 Yuan (~$378).
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Specifications
The “standard” version of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 is quite similar to the Meitu edition in terms of specifications. It has the same Snapdragon 710 CPU but the RAM has been downgraded to 6GB. There are two storage variants available: 64GB or 128GB. You get the same camera configuration on both the back and the front of the device, however, this version does not have the Meitu tech underneath, so photos should be slightly less perfect with a considerable quality loss under low-light conditions. Still, Xiaomi promises that the cameras are better than other smartphones, especially at this price range. Speaking of price, the 64GB version will cost 1,799 Yuan (~$260) and the 128GB version will sell for 1,999 Yuan (~$290). It will be available in three colors: White Lovers, Dark Blue and Black.
Xiaomi Mi CC9e Specifications
The Mi CC9e is the smaller brother of the other two. Here, Xiaomi made some downgrades, starting with the screen. The Xiaomi mi CC9e has a smaller, 6.08″ AMOLED screen with HD+ resolution. It will still benefit from the tech present on the Mi CC9, including the in-display fingerprint reader, but the resolution is considerably smaller. The CPU also suffer a small downgrade, the phone packing the Snapdragon 665 with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The cheapest model has 64GB of internal storage, with the highest model having 128GB. This version also lacks NFC, a feature present on the other device, but it keeps the camera configuration from the Mi CC9. Pricing is 1,299 Yuan (~$188) for the 4GB+64GB version, 1,399 Yuan (~$203) for the 6GB+64GB and 1,599 Yuan (~$232) for the 6GB+128GB model.
