Xiaomi only just started to tease the A3, that leaks started to pour all over the internet. At first, we thought that the smartphone will be based on the CC9, but a series of images with the packaging and the phone that GSMArena managed to get a hold on, tell a different story. The images confirm the phones’ design, as well as some key specifications. The device clearly has a waterdrop notch on the front for the front-facing camera and three cameras on the back. The images on the package show the same colors and patterns found on the CC9e released earlier this month as well.
Once the phone is taken out we see the screen cover that lists a few specifications. The Xiaomi A3 has the Snapdragon 665 and a 6.08″ AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint reader. Some earlier rumors suggested that the A3 will come with the Snapdragon 730, but this is clearly not the case. The photos provided also indicate a 48MP camera on the back and a 32MP camera for selfies. All of these make it pretty clear that the Xiaomi A3 is based on the Xiaomi CC9e. The only thing that doe snot make sense is the resolution. The A2 had a FullHD+ screen, while the CC9e only an HD+ one. Will Xiaomi provide a better screen for the A3, making it a slight variation on the CC9e, or will there be an A3 Plus/Pro model that will be based on the Xiaomi CC9 that does have a FullHD+ screen. Guess we will have to wait and see.
