We heard rumors of Umidigi launching a new device for quite a while. This new smartphone will be a bit different than the rest of their lineup since it will have an in-display fingerprint reader. Other details are quite scarce, but we know that it will also have a 48MP main sensor on the back. CPU, RAM, storage, and price are still unknown, but luckily we don’t have to wait too long to get all the details. Umidigi will reveal the Umidigi X on the 5th of April.
Since it will have an in-display fingerprint reader we can draw another conclusion. The Umidigi X will most probably come with an AMOLED screen. We can’t be 100% sure of this since we know of at least one manufacturer that has working in-display sensor for LCD displays as well, but so far no smartphone with such tech was released. Umidigi may be the first to offer this, but I would still place my money on an AMOLED screen for the Umidigi X. Screen and resolution were not revealed yet, but the company will probably go for an HD+ display, making it a competitor for the Xiaomi CC9e/A3.
On the same day, Umidigi will also launch a pair of truly wireless earbuds called Umidigi UPods (yes, how original). Hope to see a cool design and interesting features.
