Last month Mobvoi launched their new TicWatch Pro 4G smartwatch in the US. It is one of the very few Android Wear smartwatches that have mobile data connectivity, so the company launched it with big fuss. Even though the device still has the older Snapdragon 2100 CPU, it does come with slightly better hardware as well compared to the traditional TicWatch Pro. Users that bought the device, however, could not use the 4G connectivity option, yet.
The launch is made in partnership with Verizon, one of the leading mobile service providers in the US. And for the watch to be able to take full advantage of the mobile network, special settings and configurations are needed on Verizon’s network. But the wait ends in just two days, on the 8th of August when users can go into their MyVerizon app and activate the feature on their smartwatch. If you don’t have the application you can just go to any Verizon offline store.
Now, you may be asking why I write about this in advance. I’ve done this because I wanted to also remind you that the special discount on TicWatch Pro 4G expires on the 8th as well. If you still did not buy the smartwatch I suggest you hurry. Until the 8th you will get a $20 discount on the TicWatch Pro 4G on Mobvoi’s official store. After that, the price will go up to $299.
