Today, Black Shark officially launched their latest gaming smartphone outside of China. The phone is available for pre-order in Malaysia and comes with a free powerbank. The phone is identical to the Chinese version released a few weeks ago, having just some software changes to make it more appealing for the non-Chinese market. Black Shark 2 Pro will soon be available in other locations, including Europe, but an official date was not yet announced.
If you don’t remember what the new Black Shark 2 Pro has over the non-pro version launched a few months ago, let us remind you. It comes with the newer Snapdragon 855+ Chipset and now has UFS3.0 storage for improved performance. The sotrage+RAM configurations remain the same: 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB. Other specs, including the camera and screen, remain the same. It would have been nice to see a 90Hz display now, especially since more and more manufacturers are starting to include one.
The phone also suffered some minor cosmetic changes. You still get that futuristic design with sharp edges and metal+glass back, but now there were two RGB light located in the middle of the phone that illuminate the back. There will also be a “Gulf Blue” that has a nice blue color for the back and frame, with an orange centerpiece, but that version is not yet available. Those in Malaysia can pre-order the phone for RM2,499.00 (aprox $594) respectively RM2,999.00 (aprox $712) from Shopee.
