The Umidigi F1 lineup had good success fo the company. The phones had a really good price-to-performance ratio even considering alternatives like the Redmi Note 7 or the Meizu Note 8. With launch of the Redmi Note 8 competition on the mid-range market has gotten quite intense and Umidigi wants in on the action. This means that they are preparing the launch of another smartphone, the Umidigi F2.
For now, we don’t know what specs the Umidigi F2 will adopt, however, the company did reveal that it will come with Android 10 out of the box and will have a quad-camera setup on the back. The main sensor will have 48MP, similar to other smartphones that the company launched recently, and judging from the image teasers, there may be a macro lens for one of the cameras. The Umidigi F2 will also have slim bezels and, for the front-facing camera, the company will adopt a punch-hole display, probably of FullHD+ resolution. On the edges of the screen, we can see the frame which has a blue color. Other color variations may also be available at launch.
An interesting addition is a 32MP front-facing camera. The Umidigi F2 will come with the 32MP Samsung GD1 sensor that can combine 4 pixels into one, similar to the sub-pixels on the back main camera. This way, the Umidigi F2 should capture really good selfies, especially when the on-board AI enhances the photos even more. The Umidigi F2 will come with Android 10 out of the box. It is good news for anyone that is looking for a new device that has the latest OS, but not so good for existing Umidigi’s customers that will probably not see Android 10 for the devices they already own.
Pricing and release date were not announced, but the Umidigi F2 should be available by the end of the month at a price between $200 and $250.
