We heard rumors that the Vivo IQOO Pro 5G will be very competitive from both a specs point of view as well as price, but honestly, I was not expecting it to cost so little. Gearpest listed the phone on their store at just $599. Not only it is approximately the same price as other gaming devices like the Black Shark 2 Pro, but it has 5G connectivity as well, something that is still hard to find. And obviously, it comes with the latest and greatest Snapdragon 855+ chipset.
The Vivo IQOO Pro is a beast when it comes to specs. It has the Snapdragon 855+ CPU that is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The 6.41″ AMOLED display has a waterdrop notch on the top and 2340×1080 resolution. Sadly, it does not have the 90Hz refresh rate found on the Red Magic 3, but that is not a major setback considering the other specs. Even though this is advertised as a gaming smartphone, Vivo did not cut any corners on the cameras. It comes with a 48MP main sensor that is accompanied by 13MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth-sensing one.
The Vivo IQOO Pro 5G has all the bells and whistles when it comes to connectivity. As the name suggests, it has a 5G modem making it among the cheapest smartphones with such an option that is currently available. It also has Bluetooth 5, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS, and an under-display fingerprint reader. The phone is powered by a big, 4500mAh battery that supports quick charge via the USB Type-C connector. Before you rush and buy it, keep in mind that the version that is currently sold there is the Chinese one. So far I don’t know if there will be an international version nor how hard would it be to flash a global ROM.
