Xiaomi Mi TV launched in India

Today Xiaomi launched a series of Smart TVs in India in an attempt to conquer the TV market as well. The new devices range in specs and screen size, with three of them offering 4K resolution and a smaller one with FullHD. All four come with a customized version of AndroidTV, PatchWall 2.0 that promises more than 700000 hours of content and are compatible with Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime Video and many more services. All four will be available for purchase in India starting September 29.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4X (65)

The biggest and most powerful SmartTV launched today is the Mi TV 4X (65). It comes with a 4k 65″ panel with a 60Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi included a custom picture engine that they call “Vivid Picture Engine” which promises to offer optimized color, saturation and contrast in all content displayed. There is also a custom Reality Flow chip that will interpolate 24fps movies in order to display them at 60fps. The Mi TV also has a 20W speaker array which also supports Dolby Audio.

In terms of processing power, the Mi TV 4X comes with a quad-core Amlogic chipset and 2GB of RAM. It is very similar in terms of specifications to the Xiaomi Mi TV Box that has been already sold almost worldwide for quite a while. Pricing will start at 54.999 Rupees (approx $770)

Xiaomi Mi TV 4X(50) and 4X(43)

Two smaller variations will also be sold that will have a 50″ and a 43″ panel respectively. They will have the same specifications and promise the same picture and audio quality as their bigger brother, including 10-bit HDR and Google Assistant integration. Their price will be 29.999 Rupees (approx $420) and 24.999 Rupees (approx $350)

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A(40)

Last, but not least, Xiaomi also launched a more budget device that only costs 17.999 Rupees (approx $250). This one has a smaller 40″ screen and only FullHD+ resolution but will come with the same operating system and smart features that are found on the other SmartTVs launched today.

No word yet on international availability, but considering how fast Xiaomi expanded into Europe and that al smartphones launched recently were also available in official Xiaomi EU stores, I won’t be surprised if the new Xiaomi Mi TVs will also arrive in the next few months.
