Most Chinese brands that focus on the mid-range market use Mediatek chipsets. Those CPUs offer really good price to performance ratio and allows the manufacturers to develop and release quite powerful smartphones at really good prices. Despite the fact that Mediatek has launched quite a few good chipsets in the past two years, the company is still not seen in a good light and many prefer devices that have Qualcomm internals, even if this means slightly higher prices.
Doogee (and most other manufacturers) know this and in an attempt to make their brand look better in the eye of the consumer is working on a new device that will feature a Qualcomm chipset. Details are unknown for now and it may not even be a smartphone, but considering the devices launched in the past by the company, it probably is a new phone. Let’s just hope that they will go for a good mid-range chipset and not launch a device with the 400 series inside. Also, judging by the image, it may be a closer collaboration that will extend to other devices as well.
