Redmi is not yet done with flagship devices. The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro (also known as the Xiaomi Mi 9T and 9T Pro) managed to be very successful devices. The newly-released Note 8 and Note 8 Pro also received good reviews and managed to sell many units. Let’s see if they will have the same success in the future, but from what we know so far, they are on the right track on releasing another killer smartphone in the not so distant future.
The Redmi K30 was teased by Lu Weibing, Redmi’s general manager, on Weibo and it seems that the device will have 5G connectivity. This is great news and will surely help widespread adoption of 5G, if they will manage to get a low-enough price. The Redmi K20 had excellent price-to-performance ratio and offered specifications rarely found on mid-range devices. So far we don’t know anything related to the specs or the price, but fingers crossed that Redmi won’t stray from the path set with the previous smartphones.
The Redmi K30 will also ditch the pop-up camera in favor of a punch-hole display. On the front there will be two cameras of yet undisclosed resolutions. When this phone will be released, it may be the first punch-hole phone from Xiaomi. No release date was announced yet and the phone is surely still under development, but judging the release of the K20, we can expect the phone to be revealed in the first half of 2020.
