In a surprise move, ZTE just unveiled the first smartphone that is equipped with the new Snapdragon 865 chipset. Named ZTE Axon 10s Pro 5G, the phone comes with 5G connectivity, the latest chipset from Qualcomm and top specs, but most other specifications are not yet revealed. Price is not yet known either and there is no official release date, but we know that it will hit the market in the first half of next year.
If all this looks like a marketing stunt, just so ZTE can be the first to present a phone with this new CPU, you are right. There are many rumors of Redmi K30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S11, phones that will probably have the same chipset, but ZTE wanted to be the first to announce such a phone. Other known features are Android 10 out of the box with a custom skin on top for which ZTE designed more than 1600 system icons to make the interface match the phone’s elegance, and a next-generation of AI features that they call Z-Booster 2.0. This AI will intelligently allocate system resources to make the phone run better and smoother…at least in theory.
