A few months ago, Black Shark promised that they will update the Black Shark 2 and Black Shark 2 Pro smartphones to JoyUI 11, a version that is based on the new MIUI 11 interface from Xiaomi. Initially, this update was scheduled to reach consumers (at least those in China) this December, however, there were some problems in merging the gaming features from JoyUI into MIUI 11, so the update will be postponed until January 20.
Black Shark did not mention exactly what were the problems, but they said it had an impact on both stability and user experience. After more work (and overtime by the programmers) they managed to find solutions and fixed most of the problems. That is why, the beta version will be rolled to testers starting with the 30th of December, but the final version will only reach consumers on the 20th of January 2020. Sadly, these dates are only valid for the Chinese version of the Black Shark 2 and Black Shark 2 smartphones. So far there are no official release dates for the Global version.
