Umidigi launched a new fitness tracker and despite the affordable price, the Umidigi UWatch 3 has good fitness and activity tracking capabilities, promises great battery life and even has water resistance. Now, I would not say it is a smartwatch since it does not have ann app store nor can it run applications besides the ones pre-installed, but if you are looking for a simple fitness tracker that also doubles as a watch and notifications reminder, the Uwatch 3 may be suitable for you.
The Umidigi Uwatch 3 has a 1.3″ TFT-LCD screen with 240×240 resolution and touch support. I would have loved to see an AMOLED screen on it, but I am sure that this would have raised the price significantly. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth 5 and has a heart-rate sensor on the back that can monitor you 24 hours a day. All data is synchronized with your phone for a more detailed view. You can even take it for a swim since the Uwatch 3 has 5ATM water resistance.
Despite the fact that you can take it in the pool without the fear of damage, the Umidigi Uwatch 3 can’t track your swimming, but it does have 9 other sport modes, including running, cycling, hiking, and climbing. When connected to your phone, the device can display incoming calls and messages, as well as notifications from your favorite applications. Sadly, you can’t use it to answer calls (a feature mostly reserved for smartwatches), but you do get music playback controls, sedentary reminder, and a smart alarm.
The Umidigi UWatch 3 looks to be a good device considering the price. It is a good alternative to the Amazfit Bip Lite, not only because of the functions, but also since it has a similar battery life. The Uwatch 3 can last up to 10 days of usage on a single charge when in tracking mode and can go all the way up to 45 days when in watch-only mode. For €26.99, it is hard to find something with more functions. Now, normally the price is €44.99, but on Umidigi’s website, you can find coupons for Amazon which will lower the price by 40%.
