Today Realme held an online event where it officially revealed the X50 Pro 5G smartphone, their most powerful device to date and the first 5G phone from the company. It features a lot of interesting specs, a nice design and a rather affordable price, making it a true flagship-killer. For start, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will be available in India and Spain, with the rest of Europe to follow soon after.
Looking at the specs, it is easy to see why many are excited by this launch. The Realme X50 Pro comes with the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset, is paired with 6GB, 8GB or 12GB of LBDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS3.0 storage. Things don’t end here though. The 6.44″ AMOLED screen has a 90Hz refresh rate and pill-shaped punch-hole that holds two front-facing cameras (more on that later). The screen covers 92% of the front of the phone and has FullHD+ resolutotion (1080×2400 pixels).
The Realme X50 Pro 5G is pretty good at photography as well, with a quad-camera on the back and two cameras on the front. The back cameras consist of an array with a 64MP main sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP black and white portrait camera. The phone also can do 20x hybrid zoom and super-night shots. For selfies, you get a 32MP main camera and a secondary, 8MP camera with wide-angle lens that really helps when taking group pictures. You only get 4K@30fps video recording (sorry, no 8K videos here), but you do get 1080@120 slow motion for the selfie camera.
Connectivity-wise, the phone is a true flagship. It comes with 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. All this on top of traditional options like GPS and NFC. No headphone jack is present, but by now we are used to this feature being absent. All this hardware (especially the 5G part) requires a lot of power. Luckily, the X50 Pro 5G has a 4200mAh battery wich support fast charge. And we do mean really fast charging, up to 65W using the included GaN charger. The presence of a GaN charger in the box is something rarely seen, especially at this price.
The Realme X50 Pro 5G will be sold first in India and Spain, with more countries to follow. In India, the base model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will sell for 37999 Rupees, the 8GB+128GB will set you back an extra 2000 Rupees and the most expensive variant, with 8GB+256GB, costs 44999 Rupees. In Spain, the same models will cost 599€, 669€ and 749€ respectively. Pricing for other countries may varry, but not by much.
