Huawei makes the Huawei P40 official with 50MP triple rear cameras and more

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has now officially introduced a new smartphone for the world. They revealed the new Huawei P40-series of flagship devices. These are the latest smartphones from the company that feature high-end specifications and put a great emphasis on cameras. Let’s take a look at what the company has to offer in the standard P40 device.

As you would expect, the Huawei P40 comes with flagship-level features and specifications on board. It comes with a big 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2340x1080p. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM to keep your daily tasks running as well as 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Other internals includes an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G chipset coupled with Mali-G76MP16 GPU inside it.

Huawei has a track record of equipping its flagship products with high-end camera tech and the P40 series delivers here as well. With the Huawei P40 series, the company is taking the smartphone photography to a whole new level by equipping it with a new 50MP RYYB sensor with a 1/1.28-inch sensor that has a 16-in-1 pixel fusion technology for pixel binning instead of the traditional 4-in-1. This new tech is much improved compared to the regular pixel binning available currently that could help brighter end results. Along with the 50MP main sensor, we also get a 16MP Ultra-wide lens and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the front, you get a 32MP of the sensor along with an IR sensor for facial recognition.

Other features of the device include a 3800mAh battery with 22.5 Watt Huawei SuperCharge technology. We expect the charging to be fast enough although the company hasn’t shared any official data/speed of the charging tech it provides. Apart from the standard GPS solutions, the company has also opted for India’s own NaviC navigation system which is great news for those waiting to buy it in India. Other specs include Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac/ax and NFC. Sadly, there is no headphone jack, so you will have to use a dongle or USB Type-C earphones for listening to music. The Huawei P40 comes in Black, Ice White, Deep Sea Blue, Silver Frost, and Blush Gold colors. It will be available for purchase for a starting price of €799 from April 7th.

Speaking of Indian market availability of the Huawei P40, the device will not come with Google Play Store or any Google Mobile Services so it will come with Indus App Bazaar in India for app downloads.
