Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco has launched its most anticipated smartphone, the Poco F2 Pro. Just like the Poco F1, the new device offers top specs at affordable prices. It is truly a flagship killer and Poco plans, or should I say “hopes”, to sell many smartphones and take a significant market share in both India and Europe, thanks to partnerships with a few online retailers.
The new Poco F2 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 865 CPU and has either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB of UFS3.1 storage respectively. These are flagship-level components that are usually found on much more expensive devices. The new device also has a really good screen. The display has an AMOLED panel, measures 6.67″ and comes with FullHD+ resolution. Sadly there is no high refresh rate here, but you do get HDR10+ support and DC Dimming. There is also no notch and really slim bezels all around the margins of the phone.
Poco F2 Pro also comes with an above-average camera setup. Even though it is not as well rounded as the Xiaomi MI 10 or Samsung Galaxy S20, it does have impressive cameras for the price. The main sensor has 64MP capable of going 8K video at 30fps. There is also a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP macro-lens camera and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. These are arranged in an “X” shaped pattern. The selfie camera has a 20MP sensor and is hidden inside a pop-up mechanism, which allows the display to be uninterrupted.
Looking for more? Poco has you covered with an under-display fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5, liquid-cooling tech similar to the one found on gaming smartphones, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G connectivity. Everything is powered by a 4700mAh battery with 30W fast-charging, 120fps slow-motion selfie video, and even a headphone jack. This is a true flagship-killer smartphone and at $499, the cheapest Snapdragon 865 device currently on the market.
The Poco F2 Pro with 6gb+128GB can be purchased from Gearbest right now, with the 8GB+256GB model coming in the next few weeks.
