We all remember the good old days when OnePlus was making flagship killer devices, smartphones that had specs almost as good as top-of-the-line releases in that year but at almost half the price. Year over year OnePlus has increased their prices and now their latest smartphones cost almost as much as a new Samsung S20+ or Huawei P30 Pro. If the prices are just is a completely different story and one that I am not going to talk about now. Instead, I am going to talk about the good news that was posted by OnePlus’ CEO on Weibo.
They are going to release affordable smartphones in the near future and are planning to continue this tradition in the coming years as well. In the Weibo post, Pete Lau said that the company wants to expand its portfolio and to reach more people. In order to do this, they will make more affordable smartphones once again. They will also expand into other product categories, but no details were offered. No reveal dates were offered and we don’t know if OnePlus will launch a mid-range device or a flagship-killer that will take on the Poco and Redmi series.
